Paul Adkison, father of three is founder and Chairman of ZABRA originally came up with the concept for the company in response to a situation that happened in his own family. As a serial entrepreneur and technologist, he felt that he could come up with a solution that helped parents create the same rules and boundaries they have in the real world, for the social networking world.
Paul has over 20 years’ experience in working with early stage and high growth companies and founded IQMax, a mobile platform technology provider in 1999. He served as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors for over 12 years and is a recognized leader in the area of mobile healthcare technology and has been invited to give keynote speeches at the request of leading technology, telecommunications, and healthcare all over the world. Paul resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife Robyn.
Mark Adkison has over 20 years experience in the Consumer Marketing and New Media divisions of EMI Music North America, and pioneered global initiatives at EMI to support music sales and visibility for EMI artists. Mr. Adkison also co-founded the consumer based music site HearItFirst.com and led its growth to over 180,000 registered members. While at HearItFirst.com, he produced video and audio content for the website that drove awareness of new and established artists from around the world. Mr. Adkison currently serves as Product & Content Development for ZABRA.com.
Mark is married and lives in Nashville, TN with his wife and middle-school aged daughter. He is a volunteer at his local church and area youth programs.
Chris Updegraft is currently Vice President, Chief Architect of IQMax and serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Updegraft has over 15 years of experience in mobile software solutions and is a pioneer in the field of mobile healthcare technologies. Mr. Updegraft joined IQMax in 2000, and enabled IQMax to be one of the first software companies to offer sophisticated healthcare applications on mobile device platforms. Mr. Updegraft was the only member on the prestigious Microsoft Developer Advisory Council representing the healthcare industry. Prior to his tenure at IQMax, Mr. Updegraft was a staff consultant at SAE, a leading mobile software development firm, where he worked on mobile enterprise applications for Symbol Technologies’ mobile devices in the Oil and Gas, Food Services, Transportation and Logistics industries. Mr. Updegraft has also performed consulting services for leading technology companies including Fujitsu Microelectronics, Gemstar Development Corporation, O’Neil Kiosk Systems, and Vantage Marketing Incorporated. Mr. Updegraft received a BS in Computer Science and Minor in Mathematics from Azusa Pacific University.
Over Chris Damvakaris’ career, he has primarily focused on second stage management for high growth technology companies. Chris has 20 years of experience in leading sales, marketing, and product management teams. Most recently served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at IQMax, a leading provider of mobile solutions to the healthcare market. Prior to that, Chris was VP of Sales and Marketing at Apptix, a provider of cloud based Unified Communications solutions. Chris also held leadership positions with NaviMedix, QuadraMed, and Honeywell-POMS. Mr. Damvakaris received a BSBA from Old Dominion and an MBA from American University.
Chris is married with three young children, is an active member of his local PTA and volunteers as the boy’s commissioner for the local youth lacrosse program. Chris is an avid lacrosse fan, played in college and as a volunteer has coached youth for the past seven years.
Allen Thomas is a married father of three young kids (ages– newborn, 4 and 7) and veteran entrepreneur with multiple successful startup ventures to his credit. In 1999 he co-founded IQMax Inc. healthcare technology company along with Paul Adkison, where he served as Vice President of Marketing and External Affairs. Mr. Thomas founded JPSports.com, internet and video content franchise in partnership with Mark Cuban of Broadcast.com where he managed the property as Director of Interactive Media for Jefferson Pilot Communications. Mr. Thomas has an extensive background in broadcast media, sports marketing, consulting work in the Motion Picture & Film Industry, Procter & Gamble and Sprint Telecom. Previously Mr. Thomas served in the public sector on staff for Governor Jim Hunt of North Carolina, also for the state in motion picture & film industry development as well as international business development for the North Carolina Department of Commerce. Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor Degree in Business from East Carolina University, studied Law at North Carolina Central University and completed his Master Degree in Business (MBA) from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
Reggie Love served as special assistant and personal aid to President Barack Obama from 2007 until 2011. Prior to President Obama’s election in 2008, Mr. Love was hired as deputy political director for President Obama in 2007 during his tenure as Senator from the state of Illinois. Mr. Love is a graduate of Duke University and was a member of the 2001 NCAA Champion basketball team and also a member of the Football team. Mr. Love is currently enrolled at the Wharton Business School.
